On October 31st the District at Green Valley Ranch had its annual Halloween Trick or Treat even. I was dressing my granddaughter in her Halloween costume while she was twirling and singing (shouting actually) “Trick or Treat, I get candy, I get candy!”  She was impatient and adorable in her little sparkly blue Elsa costume (princess from the movie Frozen). “Grandma I ready to trick or treat

lets go bye bye”. Kendra urged.Once we arrived at The District a giant scary spider in a spider web was greeting us. Kendra squeeled,"Look a spidey, oh no! Don't let it get me Grandma"! Kendra was very excited to go get lots of candy however she was very shy when it came time to say trick or treat. All the employees in The District stores were very kind and helped her come out of her shell. The main street was decorated with lights, giant spiders, goblins and covered in fog. Kids trick or treated all the stores and received free candy. A DJ was playing family friendly Halloween music with lots of interaction with the crowd and there were costume contests for both children and family categories. The Henderson Fire Department was on hand to greet the kids and show off their fire truck. Radio station 94.1, Findlay Auto, Sams Club, Kevin Janison from News 3 Local Las Vegas and King Putt mini golf and laser tag center in Henderson were some of the sponsors there to support the event.

Ernie and I have raised two children in Henderson and been to many local events. Now we have a granddaughter (Kendra) that we get to enjoy the local events like the holiday tree lighting with santa, outdoor family movies on the green, Henderson stroll and roll and the farmers market. We love the small town feel and big city amenities that the Henderson, NV area has to offer.
